Welcomes You

Welcome to Tea Society...
the brother- and sisterhood of tea lovers...

which is quite literally as old as the pyramids. ... Once a person learns, usually from friends, how Tea is made a daily practice, it becomes more than just a product. It becomes your ally in greeting the morning and companion solacing the midnight: You have discovered Tea Life, you might call it. You have become, from a market point of view, a steady consumer of fine teas. Just as the Emperor of China enjoyed his Tribute Teas of old, in your own modest way, so do you. Health consciousness is another reason you take this interest in what you drink. We are what we drink no less than what we eat, after all, and tea has proven more healthful than anything else doctors know to prescribe as protection from cancer, heart attack, cholesterol, stroke and myriads of lesser ailments. This is all true, but this is not why you love it. What you have come to love is the Mystery of the Water and the Leaf--tea itself in all its simplicity and complexity. We love it because tea is one of those things which always makes us feel just a little bit better and more civilized----and perhaps that is reason enough. Tea Society--the best sort of Cult to belong to! ---jnp

About The Author
What They Say About Us..

“…probably the best single book on tea available on the market. It is a slim volume that instructs both novice and connoisseur alike. Written in an entertaining, discussive style with enough common sense knowledge and practicality to be a beginner’s guide, it is filled with anecdotes and history enough to make a connoisseur proud. Norwood Pratt’s New Treasury is probably the only book on tea you need, if you want only one."
